Saudi Arabia, Poland Sign Key Diplomatic Visa Exemption Agreement

In a major move to strengthen bilateral ties, Saudi Arabia and Poland have signed a landmark agreement for the mutual visa exemption for diplomatic, service, and special passport holders. Signed on January 26, 2026, in Warsaw, the deal facilitates seamless official travel and marks a significant deepening of political and economic relations between the two nations.

The agreement was finalized during high-level talks between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Polish Deputy PM & Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. It eliminates pre-entry visa requirements for government officials, streamlining administrative processes and enabling more efficient diplomatic engagement and policy coordination.

Enhanced Cooperation with New Saudi-Polish Coordination Council

Alongside the visa pact, the two nations established a Saudi-Polish Coordination Council via a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This council, to be chaired by both foreign ministers, is designed to boost collaboration across strategic sectors including politics, trade, and security. It institutionalizes a long-term framework for deepening partnership.

Driving Economic and Diplomatic Synergy

The agreements come amid growing economic ties. Saudi-Poland trade reached approximately $12 billion in 2024, with an additional $8 billion recorded by Q3 2025. The new visa exemption and council are expected to catalyze further growth by encouraging high-level governmental and business exchanges.

For Saudi Arabia, this aligns with its Vision 2030 goal of diversifying international partnerships and expanding its global diplomatic footprint. For Poland, a key EU member, it strengthens ties with a major Middle Eastern power and supports its foreign policy of engaging dynamic global partners.
