Lucknow Software Engineer Found Dead in Jeddah; Family Alleges Dowry Harassment & Murder
A tragic case has emerged involving Aiman Khan, a young software engineer from Lucknow, whose body was found in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her family has filed a police complaint alleging sustained dowry harassment, abuse, and murder by her husband and in-laws, sparking an investigation and calls for justice.
A Marriage Turned Nightmare
Aiman, a BTech graduate, married Mohammad Aamir Khan in April 2025. According to her father Sher Ali Khan’s complaint at Lucknow’s Chinhat police station, trouble began immediately. Aamir allegedly demanded an Innova car and was dissatisfied that Aiman’s Kia Seltos wasn't registered in his name. When demands weren't met, she faced verbal abuse and had her phone broken.
Alleged Escalation of Abuse in Saudi Arabia
Aiman joined her husband in Jeddah in June 2025. Her father’s complaint details severe escalation: she allegedly faced continuous mental and physical harassment from Aamir and his male relatives, pressured to bring ₹20 lakh from her parents and threatened with death.
After a distressing return to Lucknow in October 2025, Aiman went back to Jeddah on October 19 after her father assured Aamir the money would be arranged. However, the family claims the abuse resumed immediately. She was allegedly denied food, locked out, and her passport confiscated, trapping her in Saudi Arabia.
The Discovery and Family’s Allegations
Communication ceased after a WhatsApp call on December 17, 2025. Days later, neighbors with local police discovered Aiman’s body. The family alleges she was pregnant and that her in-laws staged the death to look like a suicide. They demand her body be repatriated for a post-mortem and legal action against Aamir and his family.
Official Investigation Underway
Chinhat police have registered a case based on the complaint. Station In-charge Dinesh Mishra confirmed the matter is under investigation as authorities examine the evidence to determine the facts. The case may invoke Section 304B of the IPC (dowry death), which deals with the unnatural death of a woman within seven years of marriage if linked to dowry harassment.
